The other main consumables that could need replacing are your oil filter and your air filter although in some cases a good wash will suffice. Washing your filters will only be possible if the filter is in good condition and it will also depend on the type of filter that you have.

You should also check your plugs as these can need changing at any point from 1 year to 4 years old depending on whether or not they are iridium or platinum plugs. Both of these should see you good for around 40k miles before they need to come out.

If you are patient by nature and have time then you are going to find it easier to service your car; you will also have to know what you are doing. However a professional service really is the best option for most of us.
