No Opel Corsa OPC For The US Market
Europe's much-awaited fuel-efficient small hatch, the Corsa OPC from General Motors' Opel European brand will roll out in markets across the continent anytime this month. The Opel Corsa OPC made its world debut at the 77th annual Geneva International Motor Show early this March and dubbed as the "most powerful Corsa ever". Why? Because it is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbo engine capable of pumping out 192 horsepower (141 kW) and produces 169 pound-feet (230 Nm) amount of peak torque, combine with a six-speed manual gearbox powering its front wheels. Acceleration from zero to 62 mph can be achieved in 7.2 seconds with an electronically controlled top speed of 139 mph. Upgrading with GM power programmer can boost the Corsa OPC's performance.
A high performance version of the Mazda 6 is the 2006 MazdaSpeed 6. This vehicle features a turbocharged version of the 2.3 liter MZR I4 which has the capability to produce 274 horsepower. It has a revised front end with a raised hood, a 6-speed transmission, and an all wheel drive. Some markets, including Australia, has the MazdaSpeed 6 under the name Mazda 6 MPS, with MPS standing for Mazda Performance Series. This vehicle has an outstanding performance. Primarily, it has a driving experience and acceleration that is often seen in vehicles with a higher price to it, along with two fewer seats.
General Motors' cars may be rebadged simply to gain a bigger market share without having to develop new models. Chevrolet, Pontiac and Saturn are exactly the same car sold by GM in the United States whereas Chevrolet Montana has been rebadged the Opel Corsa Utility in South Africa! Some manufacturers trade off brands that are missing from their collection. Isuzu, for instance, was lacking a minivan, so they simply rebadged the Honda Odyssey as their own Isuzu Oasis.Other companies permit a revised version of their product to be sold under another badge. Volkswagen is, for example, marketing a re-skinned version of the Dodge Caravan as the VW Routan!
Mazda is responsible for the Mazda 6, which is also known as the Mazda Atenza. This vehicle is a mid-size car and this replaced the Capella/626. The Mazda 6 sports a combination of athletic stance along with top of the class sophistication.
The Yeti is big enough to transport almost anything, given that the two middle seats can be packed up and even completely removed in case you want to transport some furniture, luggage or airport transfers too. It is a very comfortable choice for a family of five, although the leg-room for the rear passengers can be termed 'decent' and not 'luxurious'.
It has very compact dimensions and independent suspension set-up with the same kind of agility reserved for sedans. It is a well under control automobile and because it is so compact when viewed from behind the wheel, it is a hoot to drive through the traffic too. However, on our test drive of sorts, we did notice that the journey became uncomfortable as the road quality deteriorated. Laura is way more comfortable when compared to the Yeti. It is hardly marginally priced with the base petrol model at INR 12 lacs and 18 lacs bracket in the fully-loaded diesel variant.
