Why You Shouldn't Purchase New Vehicles And Should Instead Save Money On Used Cars

by Bert Carr

To get the best value and what they need in terms of transportation, many wrongly assume the best thing to do is buy a new car. A new car is not necessary for those who are just using their cars for work and small, in town trips. Many of us cannot really afford them, and all they are is burdens on our budget. Having a high car payment, and being required to carry full coverage insurance is a big burden, especially in today's economy. The "value" of a new car is mostly smoke and mirrors. The minute you drive it off the lot, much of the "value" you paid for has already been lost.

An excellent alternative, on the other hand, is a used car. There are a number of ways to go about finding high quality car for sale that will allow you to get the transportation you need, at a price you can afford. You can even purchase so called "certified" used cars that include warranties from many used car dealerships. All you need is yet another monthly payment. When you look for a used car for sale, there is a great chance that you can find something that works for your budget, that you can also pay outright for. This means that you will not be burdened with monthly payments. Full coverage insurance is also not a requirement on an owned car.

Cars for sale are in abundance and there is no reason to pay the full, overinflated prices asked on new cars. You do not have to be burdened with loans and monthly payments when there are so many great deals on high quality transportation out there. While many dealerships will advertise new vehicles as cars on sale, even at these reduced costs they are still highly overinflated prices. It is not worth the added cost to have a car that is new, as chances are, even with these discounts you will still have to take out a loan.Just remember, new cars come out each and every year.

For those on a budget, or those who simply do not want to burden themselves with debt for the sake of a new car, used cars are a great way to go. Regardless of whether you go with a used car dealership or an independent seller, there are plenty of options at your fingertips. Being able to be purchased for a fraction of the cost of a new car, used cars are also often in great shape and even have low mileage. As we are currently facing trying economic times, it is just plain smart to find ways of saving money such as these.

So when you are in the market for a replacement or additional vehicle, do not be duped by flashy advertising into thinking that you must have a new car. Generally, used cars are much better values for your money and all around more cost effective. Many are just a couple of years old, meaning they won't be lacking in features or amenities either. What this option does provide, however, is the ability for you to save money on your transportation costs.
